Surviving 2025 with My TBR

Y’all, 2025 has hit me like a bag of bricks. I’m overwhelmed and overstimulated—anyone else feeling the same?

After putting my daughter to bed, I found myself scrolling mindlessly for hours. My brain thought I was relaxing, but I was really just spiking my serotonin and spiraling my anxiety. So, I made a change that required a bit more effort but has been SO much better for my mental health.

Three nights a week, after my daughter’s in bed, I head into my room for a quick Melissa Wood Health workout (she has 5-minute workouts that fit perfectly into my evening routine). Then, I unwind with a good book. Sometimes it’s just a chapter, sometimes I get lost in an entire book. It’s become my favorite part of the day—and honestly, it’s an easy habit to stick with.

The key to making this routine work is having a mix of books ready to match my mood. I’m all about memoirs (especially by celebrities or chefs), and of course, I can’t resist a good romance. Also, by mixing in some non-spicy titles, you don’t have that awkward pause when a co worker asks you what you’re reading these days.

I mostly read on my Kindle. I love the flexibility of reading on my tablet to cozy up and disconnect from my phone. But if I’m on the go, I can always pick up right where I left off on my phone—perfect for those moments when my baby insists on being held during nap time.

Here’s a peek at my January and February reading list, plus what’s on my TBR. Hope you love them as much as I do!
