5 Infant Must Haves You Forgot to Put on Your Registry
Whether you’re reading this while desperately trying to stay away during a middle of the night feeding or you’re on vacation and realizing you’re incredibly unprepared - I’m with ya! I’ve been there and here is a short list of all of the items a Amazon Primed in a panic.
Portable Black Out Curtains - Did I make it through the 6 hour drive to Florida by myself with my 13 month old only to discover our neighbor’s security lights were blasting through our bedroom window non stop? Yes. Yes I did. These portable black out curtains were a life saver! Strong suction cups attach to windows or doors and are easy to put up and take down.
Tummy Time Mat & Play Gym - Our neighbor let us borrow their Fisher Price Baby Playmat during some VERY dark days when our daughter refused to do tummy time without screaming her head off. This mat is a game changer! Not only did it keep her entertained for tummy time, it was a lifesaver during witching hour each evening. User warning:
Egg Light - This was a game changer in the hospital and at home. It turns on and off with two taps - perfect when holding a crying baby in the dark. It dims and brightens. It has multiple color temperatures because who wants to bask in ugly light when we’re already exhausted. This is the first gift I buy for my friends who are expecting.
Emergency Rechargeable Lightbulbs - This is less fun to talk about, but super important. The Southeast was ravaged by Hurricane Helene recently and we were without power for days. I had forgotten I purchased these light bulbs and installed them in the lamps around the house - they are just like regular bulbs - but when the power went out, these stayed on! We were able to operate the lamps as usual and it was so incredibly helpful while changing diapers and getting our daughter ready for bed. I purchased more to put them in the rest of our fixtures.
Personal Neck Fan - This was honestly one of the most thoughtful gifts I received. My neighbor saw me walking my newborn around the neighborhood in the relentless summer heat. I had a fan for the baby, but I was melting. She bought me this neck fan to keep me cool - it was the sweetest!
I hope these help you - or help a mama you love! Let me know what your favorites are.
